今回は、タトゥーレーザー除去に使用される技術であるアレックスⅡ（lex II）とピコレーザー（PicoSure、PicoWayなど）には、いくつかの重要な違いがあります。それぞれが持つ特徴、メカニズム、適応するタトゥーの種類、治療の効果について解説します。

 

 

1. アレックスⅡ（Alex II）の特徴

①波長とメカニズム

波長：755nm（アレキサンドライトレーザー）

アレックスⅡは、アレキサンドライトレーザーを使用しており、755nmの波長を持ちます。この波長は、特に黒や青といった濃い色の色素に対して選択的に吸収されます。

 

選択的光熱分解の原理を利用し、レーザーの光が色素に吸収されると、熱エネルギーによって色素が破壊されます。その後、破壊された色素は体内の代謝システムを通じて自然に除去されます。

 

②効果と適応するタトゥー

黒や青などの濃い色のタトゥーに非常に効果的です。特に、古いタトゥーや、色がはっきりしているものに対して大きな効果を発揮します。

**明るい色（赤、緑、黄色など）**に対しては、効果が限定的です。アレキサンドライトレーザーは、これらの色素には十分な吸収が得られず、効果が弱まります。

 

③パルス幅と治療回数

パルス幅はナノ秒（ns）単位：アレックスⅡはナノ秒単位で光を照射するため、比較的長い時間で色素を破壊します。ナノ秒レーザーは、色素の破壊力がある程度高いものの、ピコレーザーに比べると色素分解の効率は低くなります。

 

治療回数：色素の破壊が緩やかなため、濃いタトゥーでも複数回の施術が必要となります。通常、5～10回以上の治療が必要なことが多いです。

 

④副作用

アレックスⅡは強力なレーザーであるため、治療後に一時的な腫れ、赤み、色素沈着が発生することがあります。色素沈着が発生した場合、時間が経過すると自然に治まることがほとんどですが、ケアが必要です。

色素脱失（皮膚が白くなる）や過度の熱ダメージによるトラブルが稀に発生することがあります。

 

 

2. ピコレーザー（PicoSure、PicoWayなど）の特徴

①波長とメカニズム

波長：532nm、1064nm、755nmなど（機種により異なる）

ピコレーザーは、複数の波長を使用できるシステムで、タトゥーの色や肌のタイプに応じて異なる波長を選ぶことができます。特に1064nmや532nmの波長を使うことで、黒、青、緑、赤、黄色などの多色のタトゥーにも対応できるのが特徴です。

ピコレーザーは、圧力波効果を利用して色素を破壊します。ピコ秒単位（ps）の超短パルスにより、色素が非常に細かく破壊され、体内でより迅速に除去されます。圧力波が強いため、色素をより効果的に分解します。

 

②効果と適応するタトゥー

ピコレーザーは、**多色のタトゥー（黒、青、赤、緑、黄色など）**に効果的で、特に緑や黄色などの除去が難しい色素に対しても高い効果が期待できます。

ピコ秒レーザーによって色素が細かく破壊されるため、治療効果が高く、広範囲の色に対応可能です。

 

③パルス幅と治療回数

パルス幅はピコ秒（ps）単位：ピコレーザーは、ピコ秒単位の非常に短いパルスを使用します。ナノ秒よりも短いため、色素を細かく分解でき、肌へのダメージを最小限に抑えながら色素を除去できます。

治療回数：ピコレーザーは、色素分解の効率が高いため、従来のレーザー（アレックスⅡなど）に比べて少ない回数でタトゥーを除去できることが多いです。平均して3～5回の施術で効果が出ることが多いです。

 

④副作用

ピコレーザーは肌への負担が少ないとされており、色素沈着や色素脱失のリスクが低いです。特に色素沈着が起こりやすいアジア人の肌にも適しており、リスクを最小限に抑えた治療が可能です。

施術後は軽度の赤みや腫れが見られることがありますが、通常は短期間で回復します。

 

3. アレックスⅡとピコレーザーの比較

①対応するタトゥーの色素

アレックスⅡ：黒や青などの濃い色のタトゥーには非常に効果的ですが、赤や緑、黄色といった明るい色には効果が限定的です。

ピコレーザー：黒や青はもちろんのこと、赤、緑、黄色といった多色のタトゥーにも対応できるため、幅広い色に対して効果を発揮します。

 

②効果のスピード

アレックスⅡ：色素の破壊力は高いですが、パルス幅が長いため、より多くの施術回数が必要です。特に濃い色素を持つタトゥーには有効ですが、明るい色には対応できないことがあります。

ピコレーザー：ピコ秒単位で色素を破壊するため、より少ない回数で効果的にタトゥーを除去でき、施術のスピードも速いです。

 

③副作用とリスク

アレックスⅡ：色素沈着や色素脱失のリスクがあり、治療後の肌のケアが重要です。

ピコレーザー：肌への負担が少なく、色素沈着や脱失のリスクが低いとされています。

 

④治療費

アレックスⅡは比較的治療費が低めで、ピコレーザーに比べて一般的に安価です。

ピコレーザーは最新技術であるため、治療費が高額になることがあります。

 

まとめ

アレックスⅡは黒や青などの濃い色のタトゥー除去に特化しており、特に古いタトゥーや濃い色素の除去には効果的です。一方で、明るい色素には効果が弱いことがあります。

These two laser technologies have some important distinctions in terms of their characteristics, mechanisms, and suitability for different types of tattoos. I will discuss their effects and treatment outcomes.

 

1. Characteristics of Alex II

① Wavelength and Mechanism:

Wavelength: 755nm (Alexandrite laser)

Alex II uses the Alexandrite laser, which operates at a wavelength of 755nm. This wavelength is selectively absorbed by darker pigments like black and blue.

The principle of selective photothermolysis is utilized: the laser light is absorbed by the pigment, and the heat energy breaks down the ink. The fragmented pigment is then naturally removed by the body’s metabolic system.

② Effectiveness and Suitable Tattoos:

Alex II is highly effective for dark-colored tattoos such as black and blue, especially on older tattoos or those with distinct, bold colors.

However, it is less effective on lighter colors like red, green, or yellow. Alexandrite lasers do not absorb these pigments well, limiting their effectiveness.

③ Pulse Duration and Treatment Frequency:

Pulse Duration: Nanosecond (ns) pulses

Alex II emits nanosecond pulses, which are relatively longer and thus take more time to break down pigment. While effective, it is less efficient at pigment breakdown compared to pico lasers.

Treatment Sessions: Due to slower pigment removal, multiple sessions are often required, typically 5–10 or more.

④ Side Effects:

Since Alex II is a powerful laser, there may be temporary swelling, redness, and hyperpigmentation after treatment. Although these usually resolve over time, proper care is needed.

In rare cases, hypopigmentation (whitening of the skin) or excessive thermal damage can occur.

2. Characteristics of Pico Lasers (PicoSure, PicoWay, etc.)

① Wavelength and Mechanism:

Wavelengths: 532nm, 1064nm, 755nm (depending on the device)

Pico lasers can operate at multiple wavelengths, allowing treatment for a variety of tattoo colors and skin types. The use of 1064nm or 532nm wavelengths enables effective removal of multicolored tattoos, including black, blue, green, red, and yellow.

Pico lasers use pressure wave effects to break down pigments. The ultra-short picosecond (ps) pulses fragment pigments into smaller particles, allowing quicker clearance by the body’s immune system. The stronger pressure waves make pigment breakdown more efficient.

② Effectiveness and Suitable Tattoos:

Pico lasers are effective for removing multicolored tattoos, including difficult-to-treat colors like green and yellow, making them versatile for a wider range of tattoos.

The finer fragmentation of pigments leads to higher treatment efficacy, covering a broad spectrum of colors.

③ Pulse Duration and Treatment Frequency:

Pulse Duration: Picosecond (ps) pulses

Pico lasers deliver pulses in picoseconds, which are much shorter than nanosecond pulses. This enables finer pigment breakdown with minimal skin damage.

Treatment Sessions: Due to their high pigment-removal efficiency, fewer sessions are needed compared to traditional lasers like Alex II. On average, 3–5 sessions can achieve significant results.

④ Side Effects:

Pico lasers are known for being gentler on the skin, with a lower risk of hyperpigmentation or hypopigmentation. They are particularly suitable for Asian skin, which is more prone to post-inflammatory pigmentation.

Mild redness and swelling may occur but usually subside quickly.

3. Comparison of Alex II and Pico Lasers

① Tattoo Colors:

Alex II: Best for dark tattoos like black and blue. It is not as effective for lighter colors like red, green, or yellow.

Pico Lasers: Effective for a wide range of tattoo colors, including difficult-to-remove colors such as green, yellow, and red.

② Treatment Speed:

Alex II: Effective at breaking down dark pigments but requires more sessions due to longer pulse durations. Its efficacy is limited on lighter pigments.

Pico Lasers: With shorter pulse durations, pigment is broken down more quickly, resulting in fewer sessions and faster results.

③ Side Effects and Risks:

Alex II: There is a higher risk of hyperpigmentation or hypopigmentation, especially in patients with darker skin tones.

Pico Lasers: Generally safer with fewer side effects, particularly for darker skin, as the risk of pigmentation issues is lower.

④ Treatment Costs:

Alex II: Generally less expensive compared to Pico lasers.

Pico Lasers: As they represent more advanced technology, Pico lasers tend to be more expensive but offer quicker and more effective results with fewer side effects.

Summary

Alex II is particularly effective for removing dark-colored tattoos such as black and blue. It works well for older and darker tattoos but has limited effectiveness on lighter colors.

Pico lasers, on the other hand, are more versatile, capable of treating a wide range of tattoo colors with fewer sessions and faster results. They are especially suitable for complex tattoos with multiple colors or for patients seeking minimal skin damage and side effects. Although the cost is higher, Pico lasers are often the preferred choice for more comprehensive tattoo removal treatments.
